The hardest part of therapy can be asking for help and admitting we need it, if you are reading this you have already made one of the hardest steps to reclaiming your mental health and personal well-being. I counsel adults as well as adolescents (13 years upwards).

Wanting to change and taking the first step to having counselling can be daunting, however, you can rest assured that together we can explore the issues and work our way through the difficulties to make a positive long term change for the better.

Introduction
I understand therapy can feel really daunting and scary at times, the good news is that you are looking here to make a start . We are not designed to figure out life and all its complexities alone. We can see and experience a lot in our lives and that can have a significant impact on us. It can be exhausting but it doesn't have to be like that. You deserve happiness and emotional freedom and I can help you to achieve that. I am relational and supportive in my style and create a bespoke therapy suited for the individual/couple using several evidence-based interventions to help improve your psychological and emotional well-being.
The significance of being heard and valued by respecting your story will help you gain insight into yourself. Explore how your life's context has shaped how this has influenced your perception of yourself and how you relate to the world and others. It is important to balance support alongside the challenge to allow space for growth and change.
I see you as a person and I hear the journey you have travelled. I invite you to connect to the part of you that knows you deserve the right to happiness and emotional freedom. In our lives, we see and experience many things and some of them can be deeply impactful and traumatic. Asking for support is your first step in taking back control of your life.

Introduction
Feeling overwhelmed by life with ADHD? If you have ADHD, or suspect you have, therapy can empower you to take back control of your life.

Do you always feel like you are surrounded by chaos and that no matter what you do, you just can’t seem to get things right? Are you constantly beating yourself up about things that others seem to find so easy? Do you feel easily overwhelmed, have anxiety and sensory issues?

Counselling can be flexible, with sessions weekly or fortnightly. Remote sessions can be done online or over the phone from the comfort of your own home and reminders can be sent so that you don’t miss a session.

Therapy can help you transform your life with ADHD by:
• Helping you to understand that having ADHD, or suspected ADHD, does not mean that you are broken. Recognising this can help improve your self-esteem.
• Helping you to regulate yourself and your emotions so that you can feel less overwhelmed and anxious with everyday life.
• Teaching you tools and techniques to help manage your day-to-day life, including organisation, time management and challenging negative thinking.

I started my private practice because I could see that many people were struggling with feelings of low self-esteem and confidence stemming from anxiety and depression. As I moved through my career, I started to notice that a lot of my clients either had self-diagnosed or professionally diagnosed ADHD. Which left them feeling overwhelmed with the world, not good enough and feeling hopeless for the future.

I have personal and professional experience dealing with the impact of ADHD and I understand how it can creep into every aspect of a person’s life. But it’s possible to live the life that you want and work with your ADHD with the right support in place.

In my counselling career I have supported many clients with ADHD in transforming their lives and I would love to help you too.

I’m a fully qualified and registered counsellor with the BACP. In addition to my counselling qualifications I have completed additional counselling training in counselling people with ADHD and my Master’s in Psychology has also included a focus on ADHD and Autism.

I have participated in extra training including CBT for adult ADHD and Counselling ADHD and I keep myself updated on the latest thinking around ADHD.

So please get in touch via email or text to book a session. I look forward to hearing from you.

Introduction
Are you feeling that you’re not living life to the full?
Does your head feel full of worries and constant thoughts that lead to you to not feeling good enough?
Do find you lack confidence in yourself and feel worthless?
Are you fed up with trying to please other people rather than yourself?
Are you feeling that you’ll never find a successful relationship.
Do you find yourself in repeating patterns of behaviour that stop you moving forward and having the life you want.?
Things you just can’t seem to change on your own? Does this leave you feel isolated and alone?
All these struggles can result in a life where anxiety and depression can take over and day to day life can feel too hard. Often resulting in coping mechanisms that just make things harder, or you might find you’re struggling to manage each day.
If you identify with any of these situations, then therapy can be something that can really help.
This is where I can help, in therapy I can work with you to find ways to overcome the issues that prevent you from living a life, the life you want and deserve. Talking therapy allows you to work through things at a comfortable pace and learn new skills to manage and overcome problems.
Clients tell me that having therapy has helped them to make so many positive changes in their lives, from improving their relationships with themselves and others, overcoming destructive behaviours, such as using drugs and alcohol to numb painful feelings and discovering a newfound confidence to really live life the way they want.
About Me
So far in my journey as a therapist I have amassed over 6 thousand hours of working with clients both at the Mental health charity Mind, a private drug and alcohol rehab and my own busy private practice, this means I have a wealth of experience and knowledge in working with both individuals and couples, helping them to overcome many different issues and discovering a new path forward. My own life experiences from being a military child who went to boarding school, a mother, experiencing difficult relationships, having many different jobs until I found my passion of being a therapist, supporting a family member with addiction and mental health struggles, also allows me to bring my own life experiences and knowledge.
Couples
Are you looking for help with your relationship? Are you finding that you’re not feeling heard or understood by your partner?
I work with couples and people who are looking for help with their relationships. Helping people to communicate their needs and desires in an effective way to enable them to have the relationship that they truly want.
When we fail to communicate effectively in our relationships it results in ruptures, conflict, and unhappiness.
Relationships can be affected by so many factors, infidelities, addiction, bereavement, children, work stresses and many more daily events that cause friction between two people.
Bringing these issues to therapy allows couples to navigate their problems and learn new ways to resolve the conflict, reignite intimacy and become close again.

Introduction
Hi, I’m Madeleine and I work by video, phone and email with adults (18+) across the UK. I specialise in working with eczema, anxiety and neurodivergent clients.
I am LGBTQ+ and poly/ENM affirming, sex positive, kink aware, body and fat positive.

Neurodivergence counselling:
Have you always felt different from others, maybe “too much” and “not enough” at the same time?
You might be feeling overwhelmed, confused, burnt out and struggling with grief and shame about the past and present challenges. Maybe you have been recently diagnosed or realised you may be neurodivergent and want to explore what this means to you.
I can help you feel more confident, recognise your strengths, become accepting and compassionate towards yourself and work out what you need and how to ask for it.

Eczema counselling:
I understand from my own experiences with eczema how much it can disrupt your life. The physical symptoms such as the itchiness, discomfort and visible signs of eczema can lead to a range of emotions, such as frustration, grief, embarrassment and isolation. You may be struggling with sleep, self-consciousness that impacts your relationships or the after-effects of childhood bullying. Eczema can take a huge toll on your emotional well-being and it’s really common to struggle with anxiety and depression. It’s often a vicious cycle of stress causing flare-ups, and the eczema leading to worsening mental health.
Together we can explore the challenges you face, build resilience and self-compassion, process the grief of what you may have missed out on, improve your self-esteem and develop strategies to reduce stress and anxiety.

Anxiety and stress counselling:
Life can feel overwhelming at times. You may be feeling tense, anxious and stressed, unable to stop worrying and feeling that you can’t switch off. You might want to feel calmer, more relaxed, to sleep more easily and feel able to face your problems.
There are many different parts of our lives that can leave us feeling anxious, stressed and overwhelmed, including relationships, work, feelings about ourselves, past experiences and fear of the future.
I can help you to find ways to lessen this anxiety, to explore your thoughts and feelings and to see problematic parts of your life more clearly.

Introduction
Within my practice all sessions are client-led using an integrative approach. This means that the client is always in control of sessions, my clients decide on how and what we focus on in each session. By working together we can discover coping strategies and tools which best suit my clients needs. We are all unique which means our therapy needs to be too.
I am Northeast Ambassador for Creative Counsellors©️ and can incorporate creative interventions into sessions as sometimes it is easier to express our thoughts without the use of words.
I am also qualified in Clinical Supervision and offer 1-1 and group sessions.
I am creator of WorryBuddies®️ and was invited to contribute to Tanja Sharpe’s book Creative Counselling providing information on the origins of my WorryBuddies and how they are used within sessions.
Sessions can be either Face to Face or remotely using either VideoChat or Telephone
