Trauma and Loss Therapy in a Safe and Private Setting
I specialize in two deeply challenging aspects of the human experience: trauma, critical illness and end-of-life. I support adults who have been in or have witnessed a life-threatening event and grappling with the enduring impact of these events on their overall well-being. Additionally, I support adults who navigate the complexities of a critical or terminal illness, individuals who care for a loved one in their end-of-life stages as well as clients who cope with the aftermath of grief and bereavement.
These challenging experiences tend to have an overwhelming impact on our wellbeing and can result in anxiety, depression or relationship challenges. Fundamental existential concerns, such as the nature of life and death, freedom, isolation, and meaning, frequently come to the forefront during these trying times.
How Counselling Can Help You
I provide a safe and non-judgmental space where clients who face these life challenges, can explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I believe that everyone has the capacity for personal growth and healing regardless of the challenges faced or the stage of life one finds themselves in. I love supporting clients on their unique journey towards self-discovery and it is my experience that it is never too late to improve your wellbeing or positively transform your life.
Pet Bereavement
For people who have loved and lost a pet, the grief can be every bit as strong and raw as that felt over the death of a human loved one. I believe that when we take an animal into our homes they become part of our family, and we mourn them in the same way. Unfortunately, this type of grief often goes unrecognized by those around us and it might not be validated who may not comprehend the depth of our pain. Thus, I extend my counselling practice to include support for clients facing the loss of a pet—from the diagnostic stage through the end-of-life processes and the subsequent bereavement.
