Further Information

I hold a COSRT Approved Advanced Certificate in Couples Counselling.

My approach is tailored to individual needs and working with couples needs.
Working together, you make the choices of what you bring to sessions and I would like to listen and help you explore the meaning, feelings and emotions behind your difficulties. I believe everyone should have the right to be self-directing so putting you at the heart of our work, I use an eclectic approach to support you to the best of my ability in a non-directive way.

With couples I use a more directive approach as we explore your relationship together. I cover issues such as conflict, affairs, empty nest issues, intimacy issues helping you identify your own and partner’s needs. Whatever difficulties you may be experiencing I can support you as you learn more about yourselves and your relationships.

Where I work and my experience
I am counsellor and psychotherapist working in Private Practice based in two centres in Nottingham. My current work is with individuals and couples. I provide both long and short-term counselling both face to face and online using Zoom. I also provide ad hoc work for a bereavement organisation and a carers charity. I have worked with EAP and other charitable organisations in the past. I worked as a volunteer in the NHS for 4 years working with life limiting conditions and issues around loss, coping with change, anxiety, stress, bereavement, suicidal thoughts and depression.
I worked for a charity providing counselling to survivors of rape and sexual abuse, in Lincolnshire and within a university setting, for 2 years working with self-esteem, shame, loss, self-worth, power, boundaries and trauma. Rape and sexual abuse can impact on many areas of a client’s life, and new or current relationships can be affected by past and current violence. I can support you with flashbacks, panic attacks and other trauma related issues.
I offer a safe and confidential space to explore issues that are unique to each client with warmth, empathy within a non-judgmental relationship to empower you to explore issues that are important to you.
Any issues important to you are important to me. I conduct a full assessment to determine your needs within the first session with no obligation for further sessions.
